Alicante Airport To Benidorm Bus
Much of the Costa Blanca bus services can be confusing to foreign travellers, and having just taken the Torrevieja to Alicante Airport bus I decided to check out the Alicante Airport to Benidorm bus service. My bus from Torrevieja arrived at the terminal’s departure level 2, and this is the same place to get the bus to Benidorm.
Alicante Airport To Benidorm Bus
Being a research trip I wanted to cover all possibilities so purposely didn’t purchase a ticket for Benidorm from the Torrevieja bus station. This nearly cost me another hour’s wait as, although you can purchase a ticket on the bus, I was asked to wait until all passengers with tickets had boarded. I was lucky, there was 2 seats left. While waiting for the passengers to board I picked the nice, but busy lady’s brain and was pleased to find she spoke English (don’t expect this in Torrevieja!) She told me it is best to get your ticket as soon as you arrive at the airport, from the machine in the terminal or from one of the sales staff, easily recognised by the ticket machine around their necks.
I also took note of the bus from the airport to Alicante City which is from the same place and route marked (C6). The Alicante Airport to Benidorm bus company is called Alsa, the route marked (CV-403) and it arrived just a few minutes after the stated time. The bus is comfortable, air conditioned, clean and takes between 40 mins – 50 mins at a price of 9.45€
Benidorm Bus Terminus
Benidorm’s bus terminus (parada) is outside the city centre, but after stopping there the bus continues into the city and stops again on Av. de Europa 8 which is the main road in and out of the city. The bus stop is just a block up from Av. del Mediterraneo that runs along Levante Beach in the heart of the tourist action. To do a bit more research I got off at the large terminus instead of continuing into the city.
Here I confirmed the return bus to the airport is from bay 5 and that there are regular buses in and out of the city. To get to the city you need to go to level 3 of the terminus which is on street level and you will see the bus stop opposite the entrance to the terminus’ hotel. I hopped on the first bus that came along, don’t quote me on this, but all buses marked Centro (central) go into the city and cost 1.50€. The one I took went down Av. de Europa, turned right on Av. del Mediterraneo and continued past the Old Town on it’s way to it’s destination, Carrefour Supermarket. Please note: All prices may be subject to change.
I hopped off at the main library (bibleotec) which is directly opposite ”Walking Street” a main thoroughfare through the Old Town. Please note: this bus stop does not return to the bus terminus, you have to walk down to the busy stops on Av. del Mediterraneo or the main one on Av. de Europa 8. I was advised by a bus driver to get bus number 3 which is the quickest back to the terminus from Av. del Mediterraneo, about 5 mins. Bus times below :
