It’s nice when spending a holiday in the lively city of Benidorm to get away from the hustle and bustle for a day, and a lovely time can be had on a visit to Altea. The whole of the Costa Blanca is reachable by car on a day trip, and there is just so much to see in this beautiful area of Spain. The coastal region is where most holidaymakers head for, and with the surrounding mountains as a backdrop to many parts of the coast, there are a number of activities and adventure tours visitors can enjoy, both on land and in the water.
The Bay of Altea, and its famous marina are where many Benidorm holidaymakers head to for a choice of excellent water sports. Altea Old Quarter
It must be said that Altea is one of the most enchanting towns on the Costa Blanca, and when walking around its narrow cobbled streets and charming Old Quarter, visitors can truly get a feel for what life must have been like during medieval times. The striking blue and white tiled domes of the Church of La Mare de Déu del Consol stand as a landmark for visitors who lose their way in the maze of twisty alleyways, and quaint tapas bars and restaurants provide welcome rest and refreshment. The town’s beach offers a peaceful day of fun in the sun, and its palm lined promenade is perfect for an evening stroll.
