Cumbre del Sol

When looking at days out during a Benidorm holiday, not many would consider visiting a residential area very exciting, but when it comes to Cumbre del Sol you would be mistaken. Situated just over a 40 minute drive north from Benidorm, Cumbre del Sol is a residential urbanisation of Benitachell and its lofty clifftop position above the glistening Mediterranean offers visitors spectacular views of the famous ‘Rock of Ifach' and town of Calpe. The area has a selection of shops, two shopping centres, bars and restaurants but it's the surrounding countryside, beaches and crystal clear waters that attract most visitors.

Cumbre del Sol Beaches

Cala del Moraig Beach is the closest, and is where you can access the Cova del Arcs (cave of arches) where there is excellent swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving opportunities. With this part of the coastline being a mix of limestone cliffs and coves, there are excellent walking trails as well as the popular Moraig underwater scuba diving route. Naturists can enjoy the privacy of the secluded and peaceful Los Tiestos Cove and keen anglers should try the popular fishing spots of Llebeig Cove.

Walking & Horse Riding

Hikers, nature lovers and children can enjoy a wonderful day at the nearby Natural Park of Granadella where there are numerous walking trails among the park's lush valleys and rolling meadows. The park provides the perfect setting for a family picnic and there are some fine examples of flora & fauna to discover. Close to the park is the large equestrian centre, Hípica Cañada del Sol where kids can learn all about the horses and ponies at the horse petting zoo while parents enjoy a drink in the centre's tapas bar & restaurant. There are also horseback rides available for all ages that follow the lovely trails through the Natural Park of Granadella.
