With the majority of Benidorm’s city centre and city residential areas being extremely built up with high rise hotels and holiday apartments, the larger nightclubs are situated outside the city centre where noise pollution is not so much of a problem, as is the case with KU Discoteca. There are many more nightclubs throughout the city, although due to noise regulations these have to have sound proofing which isn’t too bad for smaller venues, but when it comes to the mega clubs that hold thousands of revellers, this can cost a small fortune.
Opened in 1997, KU Discoteca is situated on Avenida Comunidad Valenciana where you will also find Space Morning Club and the Popular Discoteca Penelope. One of Benidorm’s super clubs, KU occupies around 7,500 square meters of land and is spread over three floors which can hold approximately 5000 guests. From the outside, KU resembles a flying saucer and revellers flock here to drink and dance the night away or enjoy the social scene on the fantastic rooftop terrace which is even equipped with a restaurant and swimming pool.
The ground floor houses the main entrance, customer service desk, souvenir shop, toilets and changing rooms. The first floor is home to the main dance floor and stage, DJ booth equipped with all the latest technology, 5 large public bars and a VIP area. The spacious garden terrace on the top floor can accommodate up to 1000 people with comfortable chill out seating areas, a splendid swimming pool, 4 bars, a restaurant, shop and VIP bar.
The garden terrace is a fantastic feature of the club where, after working up a sweat strutting your stuff on the dance floor, you can spend some terrace chill time and cool off in the pool. The terrace restaurant offers a choice of light snacks and a selection of local and international dishes, as well as a decent wine list. Be sure to check out the boutique shop before heading home where you will find a variety of souvenirs, clothing and CD’s all with the KU logo that make the perfect gift.
KU Discoteca has some of the most advanced and modern disco equipment available and attracts many of Europe’s top DJ’s. Summer 2016 featured the Madrid legend DJ Nano who is a resident DJ for FM Radio Maximum and presenter on the local TV show Music Yes. He has also produced soundtrack compilations for Ministry of Sound Trance Nation. For the best music experience, a visit to the Superior Room is a must which has unique acoustics perfect for listening to pure house. Throughout the summer months there are events, promotions, theme nights and party nights, so be sure to head for KU Discoteca on your next visit to Benidorm.
