Situated less than 20 kilometres from Benidorm, in the beautiful hills of Algar, is Dino Park. Set in and around the Cactus D’Algar Botanical Gardens, and a short walk from the picturesque Algar Waterfalls makes Dino Park an ideal, fun family day out. The park’s pretty gardens are the setting for a Jurassic experience, with fantastic lifelike dinosaur models, skeletons and huge dinosaur eggs, strategically placed to blend into their surroundings.
Dino Park Algar
Dino Park has a small museum area where you can gaze upon the oldest plant in the world, The Mesozoic Tree (Wollemi Nobilis) that has been a feature in the park since 2006 and dates back a mere 175 million years 🙂 There is also a 3D Cinema that will keep the young ones enthralled. There are plenty places to relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings, as well as a picnic area and welcoming rock built swimming pool.
It is possible to combine a visit to Dino Park with a number of other excursions as it is just a short walk from the Algar Waterfalls, where you can explore the beautiful valley where the water cascades through a series of crystal clear rock pools, perfect for an icy dip. If you fall in love with the area, as many do, close to the falls is the Fonts de l’Algar Camping & Caravaning Site where you can pitch a tent or caravan at very reasonable rates, and enjoy good facilities that include a café/snack bar and mini mart. Just 15 kilometres from Dino Park is the breathtaking Guadalest Valley and its charming mountaintop village, the most visited in Spain.
