Medieval Dinner Show

Holidays in Benidorm are all about fun, whether it's on the beach sipping sangria, visiting a theme or aqua park or even learning about the turbulent history of the area when enjoying a Medieval Dinner Show. For the more serious history buffs, Benidorm has several interesting museums and monuments, and throughout the year there are various festivals and fiestas celebrating Spain's history and religion such as the Festival of the Moors & Christians.

Medieval Dinner Show

Located in neighbouring L'Alfaz del Pí is Castillo Conde de Alfaz, a Medieval themed hotel and castle complete with turrets and ramparts. Here visitors can enjoy an evening of magic, comedy and history, in the form of mock battles and jousting accompanied by a Medieval feast. With nail biting anticipation the story unfolds when during a celebration for the Earl of Alfaz's daughter, the castle comes under attack by Berber soldiers and the Earl has no choice but to surrender to the Sultan Banu, leader of the Moorish troops.

With full blown war looming the Earl and Sultan agree to a tournament between their soldiers, the Earl pitting his most decorated Christian Knights against the troops of the Sultan. The battles, duels, jousting and rivalry that follows is a delight to watch and diners are encouraged to choose sides, with much cheering and jeering amidst the frolics and laughter. The accompanying meal is in keeping with the times and diners drink soup straight from the bowl, gnaw chicken and ribs from the bone with their hands, and help themselves to jugs of beer, sangria and soft drinks.
