Paddle Surfing Experience

With its fantastic weather and beautiful golden sand beaches, Benidorm attracts its fair share of thrill seekers, and a great day out at sea can be enjoyed during a paddle surfing experience. Within Benidorm's marina area there are a selection of exiting water sports to try such as the latest craze of Flyboarding, which uses high powered jets of water to propel the rider out of the water where you can reach dizzying heights and perform a number of acrobatic moves. For a more sedate, yet just as exiting adventure, a paddle surfing experience offers participants the chance to explore the picturesque Costa Blanca coastline and, depending on your level of experience, maybe ride a few waves.

Paddle Surfing Experience

Just a short drive or bicycle ride from Benidorm is the lovely town, and bay of Altea. The town and its excellent marina are popular with holidaymakers from Benidorm wishing to experience a range of water sports, without having to worry about the huge crowds in the waters off Benidorm's beaches. Located in Altea's Marina Greenwich is one of Spain's leading adventure and activities organises, Paddle In Spain. Their fully qualified instructors have a wealth of experience with all types of board sports, as well as many other activities both on land and in the water. They offer a beginners course to paddle surfing, and a paddle surfing experience.

Introduction To Paddle Surfing

It is advisable to at least have this course under your belt before trying the paddle surfing experience. You will begin your training on the beach with the basics of the board and paddle. You will learn how to carry the board, feet and knee positions for maximum stability and how to hold and use the paddle correctly. The lessons then continue in the water where, using the forward stroke, you will get comfortable paddling the board before moving on to different stances and strokes, that include power and turning strokes.

RESTRICTIONS & ITINERARY

  • All students must be able to swim.
  • There is a minimum age restriction of 6 years.
  • Juniors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The course is available from April to October.
  • Course times are from 10:00 – 13:00 and 17:00 – 19:00
  • Course duration is 1 hour, 15 minutes.
  • Course includes all equipment, instructor and insurance.

Paddle Surfing Experience

To participate in this activity you will need to either have some personal paddle surfing experience or have taken the above mentioned beginners course. After meeting up at Marina Greenwich and been issued your equipment, you will do some warm up exercises and have a practice to refresh your skills. Accompanied by your instructor you will head out of the marina and begin your adventure to the beautiful marine and mountain area of Morro de Toix. The waters are crystal clear on good days, offering the chance to view some of the areas marine flora & fauna while taking in the spectacular views of the cliffs and coastline. After a refreshing dip and a snack, you will head back to the marina where you can work out your stiff muscles with some stretching exercises.

  • Juniors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The activity is available from April to October.
  • Activity duration is 3 hours.
  • Activity includes all equipment, light refreshments, instructor and insurance.
