Jumilla Wine Tours

The vibrant city of Benidorm is more well known for the consumption of large amounts of cheap beer than it is for wine, but for the more discerning visitor Jumilla wine tours can be enjoyed at a number of wineries in the region. Around an hour and 30 minutes drive from Benidorm, Jumilla is an agricultural town in the Region of Murcia that, aside from its vineyards, produces olives, fruit and dairy products from goats milk. There are various companies that offer Jumilla wine tours but if you wish to explore the town and its wine route at your leisure there are over a dozen wineries that offer tours of their vineyards and bodegas.

Jumilla's Bodegas

Bodega Pedro Luis Martínez – This winery is located in the centre of the Jumilla in Barrio Iglesias 55. Apartado de Correos 52. In 1957 they extended their facilities to an area of 3,200 square metres that now has the capacity to store up to 3,300,000 litres. Tours are available from Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 14:00 and 15:30 to 19:30. Weekend tours are available by prior arrangement. Languages spoken are Spanish and English.

Bodegas Luzón – Located at kilometres 3.1 on the road from Jumilla to Calasparra. Built at the start of the 20th century, the winery has a surface area of around 4,800 square metres. Daily tours in Spanish and English are available by prior arrangement. The winery has a shop that is open Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 13:00 and 15:30 to 19:00. Friday from 09:00 to 14:00.

Bodegas Casa De La Ermita – Located at kilometres 11 on the road from Jumilla to El Carche. This winery started producing their first wines in 1999 and is now the first winery in the Murcia region that make organic wine. The winery offers tours in Spanish and English, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 18:00. Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00.

Bodegas Vina Campanero – Located at Apartado de Correos 346 on the road to Murcia. Founded in 2002, they offer guided tasting sessions by reservation and guided vineyard tours without reservation. They have an on site shop where wines and other products can be purchased. The winery is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 13:30 and 16:00 to 20:00. Saturday from 09:00 to 14:00. Saturday afternoon and Sunday is by prior arrangement.

Bodegas Silvano García – Located on Av. de Murcia 29. Established in 1925, this is one of the regions older wineries that offer Jumilla wine tours. Guided vineyard tours and tasting sessions in Spanish and English are available by reservation. Wines can be purchased on site without reservation. The winery is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00. Saturday from 09:00 to 19:00. Sunday from 10:30 to 14:30. Public holidays are by prior arrangement.

Bodega Vina Elena – This beautifully constructed winery is located on Carretera Estrecho de Marín s/n Ctra. de Murcia at kilometres 52. They are open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 13:30. Events celebrations, guided vineyard tours, guided tasting sessions are by reservation and in Spanish or English. Wine and other products are available to purchase from their on site shop.

Bodegas San Isidro – Located on Carretera de Murcia s/n 30520 Jumilla. Founded in 1934, this winery offers guided vineyard tours and wine press tours in Spanish, English and French by reservation. Wine tasting and sales are available without reservation. Opening times are Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00. Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 14:00.

Bodegas Bleda – Located at Apartado de Correos 62, at kilometres 2 on the road from Jumilla to Ontur. Founded in 1915, this is the oldest winery on these Jumilla wine tours. It enjoys a beautiful countryside setting and offers event celebrations, tasting courses, guided tasting sessions, guided vineyard tours and visits to the wine presses in Spanish and English by reservation. Wine sales are available without reservation. Open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 and 16:00 to 18:00. Weekend tours for a minimum of 10 persons are available.
