Underwater Sea Walk

With the many thousands of holidaymakers visiting Benidorm each year, it is not surprising the amount of exiting and unusual activities available, and one such activity that many will never have even heard about is an Underwater Sea Walk. Mankind's fascination with the world's oceans led to the first diving helmet being invented in the early 1800's by brothers Charles and John Dean.

Origins Of Diving

Their first design was actually a ”smoke helmet” for the use of firemen having to enter areas of dense smoke. The success of the helmet led to them developing a similar one that prevented water entering, opening the doors to underwater exploration. Diving helmets have come a long way since then and are now available in lightweight designs that are used for recreational diving such as an Underwater Sea Walk.

No matter what activity or adventure you choose during a visit to Benidorm, Marco Polo Expediciones are sure to offer it. Based in the city centre, they have land adventures such as Jeep Safaris, Horse Riding, Paintball and Segway Tours. Their air activities include a Helicopter Flight and Paragliding, and they offer water activities such as Scuba Diving, Kayaking, Jet Ski, and of course their Underwater Sea Walk.

Underwater Sea Walk

This thrilling adventure is available daily and is suitable for most age groups. Walkers can either meet their instructor at the dive site or collect a bicycle from their office on Avenida de Europa 5, in the city centre which you can use free of charge to get to and from the dive site. For certain activities Marco Polo will pick you up from your accommodation in Benidorm, but you would need to confirm with them if a pick up is available for this activity. After a short briefing you will don your diving helmets and descend into the beautiful underwater world for your 30 minute Underwater Sea Walk. The helmets are lightweight and so comfortable to wear, you won't even notice you have one once surrounded by pretty fish and other marine life.
