Windsurfing
Benidorm is the perfect holiday destination if you like to party hard at night and enjoy a great selection of water sports during the day, that includes the ever popular sport of windsurfing. The fantastic attractions and activities available in the city are numerous, and there are some superb things to do for people of all ages, individuals, families and groups. Benidorm's beaches and marina area offer all the usual fun activities such as jet skis and banana boats, as well as the more extreme and unusual activities like the latest craze of flyboarding and the latest version of the banana boat, the flying fish which has been modified so it lifts right out of the water and flies above the waves.
Unlike surfing that requires waves, windsurfing can be enjoyed anywhere there is water and wind, such as lakes, reservoirs, and of course, the sea. On windy days when the sea is choppy but doesn't have any descent size waves, I have often seen surfers looking on enviously as windsurfers fly across the ocean, skimming along the choppy waters. Combining elements of both sailing and surfing, and comprising a 2-3 metre board and sail connected to the board by a swivelling joint, windsurfing allows riders to perform some amazing acrobatic stunts.
